After graduating university, I had a good few months where I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life.
Recruitment? Not for me. Sales? I’d be shit. Luckily, I somehow managed to convince Mike – our editor – that I was a semi-decent writer, and fortunately, he fell for it hook, line and sinker.
I can be pretty persuasive; maybe I would be good at sales, after all…
Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that decent jobs are few and far between, so if you’re currently in the same space I was where I had no clue what to do, I have the dream role for you.
The ‘real life Hogwarts’ at Warner Bros Studio tour are on the lookout for new members of staff, so you better get your CV and cover letter in tip-top shape ASAP.
According to their official website, they have an “upcoming assessment day on Friday 22nd September, recruiting for the roles of Interactor, Sales Associates and Warehouse Associates.”
Here’s a description of the jobs on offer:
“The warm welcome that visitors receive from all our employees makes a huge difference to their excitement and enjoyment of the Studio Tour. If you have enthusiasm, personality and a flair for customer service, this could be the place for you with either a full-time, part-time or seasonal role.
Our Visitor Hosts are the frontline team, responsible for meeting, greeting and assisting our visitors upon arrival and again when they depart.”
I could do that! I’m already getting a bit sick of this ol’ journalism malarkey, and god knows I love me some Harry Potter.
I do hate customer service and dealing with the public though – sorry, there’s just a lot of wankers out there.
They add: “Our knowledgeable Interactors are full of behind-the-scenes filmmaking secrets which they are eager to share, and our Retail Associates help visitors find the perfect souvenir following their special day with us.”
If you think you’ve got what it takes you can apply and find out more here.
This comes after the studio tour recently announced they’d be running a Harry Potter themed Halloween event.
The feast, called ‘Hogwarts After Dark’ will take place in the Great Hall, which will be laden with pumpkins, cauldrons, and even the original Death Eater costumers from the movies.
Once guests have eaten they’ll be invited to take part in an interactive recreation of the Battle of Hogwarts.
I wonder if you can dress up and go. I’d definitely go as Moaning Myrtle.
Anyway, that job is mine; where’s my owl to send off my CV?
